One of the pieces for my IB HL art exhibition, inspired by Lichtenstein's cartoon strip pieces from the 60s. I love the way he and Warhol both used the advertising techniques of the industry to make a comment on the industry itself.
Clicky for its companion piece, an apple a day NOTE: I'm not taking a stab at iPodsI own one myself! They're just such a tech/social phenomenon that I couldn't let it go without commentary. Btw, the workmen destroyed it bringing it back from the art gallery, huge black scratches all over it. Unfixable. Oh well. Wish there was a ruler for this sort of thing... Acrylic gouache on plywood board. |
